Demolition began on October 18 and was completed November 19

Date: 11-20-01
DESCRIPTION: All of the evidence from the Pentagon attack was very quickly destroyed. The entire section was demolished and hauled away by AMEC corporation. AMEC had also done the blast-resistant renovation and then reconstructed the Pentagon. They also did demolition work and removal of evidence at the WTC complex.

Emergency Repair and Restoration of the Pentagon

"AMEC was the sole contractor responsible for management of the demolition, debris removal and reconstruction of the area of the Pentagon destroyed by terrorists. AMEC’s capabilities were displayed at the Pentagon before, during and after the attack. AMEC had just finished the project to strengthen and renovate one section, called Wedge 1. During the attack, the plane hit at the junction of the strengthened wedge and Wedge 2, but most of the wall and windows of Wedge 1 stayed intact. AMEC responded to the terrorist attack within minutes by rescuing survivors, constructing isolation barriers, installing shoring in portions of impacted areas, and supplying debris-removal equipment. An emergency communications system established by AMEC later was adopted by several federal government entities on the project. AMEC completed demolition and removal of the damaged structure in one month – two months ahead of the target." AMEC

World Trade Center Emergency Phase I & II

"On September 11, 2001, the world was stunned by the terrorist attack on the internationally acclaimed World Trade Center Towers. Following the collapse of the two towers, AMEC was called upon by the City of New York to assist in the demolition and clean up of Tower One and the Customs Building (WTC 6). AMEC mobilized a field staff on September 12 and established a 24-hour a day, seven days a week operation to remove the debris from the World Trade Center site." AMEC
