DESCRIPTION:
Notice anything missing from this photo? How about the firefighters? This was taken during
the fireground evacuation between 10:15 and 10:38. In an email from ACFD Chief Schwartz he explained the following, "The firefighters
were removed from the fireground for 23 minutes approximately 300 yards, under the interstate overpass".
The MWAA apparatus 341 and 345 were ordered back to the guard rail. After the evacuation they repositioned the apparatus in different locations.
This was due to reports of another incoming plane.
You can read the full details of this in the Car Fire Chronology sidebar
KEY NOTES:
Without the fire suppression efforts present the increased flame can be seen in the roof area
and the rear of the collapsed area.
