DESCRIPTION:
The collapse zone after they'd moved heavy equipment in.
KEY NOTES:
This photo has been used a lot to indicate that a 757-200 couldn't have hit the building and left
this book in place. If you look at the slabs in the foreground of this photo and keep in mind there would've been two of these
between the initial impact and the book and stool, then it really is no surprise that they would have remained in place. More
than anything this photo is a good demonstration of the expansion joint. Notice that there is no rebar extending from the floors
or walls. This is where the lean-to collapse took place - the slipping away of one side from the other.
