PROJECT for the NEW AMERICAN CENTURY

"Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor."

When I read that the first few times I figured somebody had said it somewhere at some time in the past and it was an untraceable remark. But then I discovered it is currently on a website, in a document signed by all of the people to your right in September of 2000. Go right now to their site under Publications/Reports, download "Rebuilding America's Defenses" and look on page 51. There it is. That means these people stood to benefit if America had a "new Pearl Harbor" and it can be implied that they even desired one to "justify" their goals.

What was Pearl Harbor? It was an airborne, early morning surprise attack against America that resulted in our direct involvement in a world war. I will present a couple of quotes from this document that pertain to 9/11 and highlight some information regarding the PNAC members. Throughout the page I will have links for you to follow and research for yourself. There's even an interesting connection to the origin of FOX news with this group.

This is a fascinating document in many ways. It explains Bush's new defense plan word for word years in advance, it calls for the total domination of space and the denial of the use of space to others, and......are you ready? Total control of cyberspace! They even use the term "net war". Keep in mind it is the last place we can exchange information about the world situation.

"Indeed, the United States has for decades sought to play a more permanent role in Gulf regional security. While the unresolved conflict with Iraq provides the immediate justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein." (pg. 14)

The way I read that is that weapons of mass destruction, ties to terrorism and even Saddam himself didn't matter. In other words, we were going into the Middle East........period. The key to this paragraph is even using the word "justification". That means they were wanting to do it but didn't have an excuse as of September 2000. There was only one thing stopping them - us.

If you read the Operation Northwoods page you will see a very interesting quote there. The plan included staging terrorist attacks against American citizens on American soil in order to justify the invasion of Cuba. Again they knew it would be the American people that would stop them. So they wanted to have a series of "well-coordinated" self-inflicted terrorist attacks so "casualty lists published in U.S. papers would cause a helpful wave of national indignation". You can see that for yourself on the original documents from the National Security Archives.

"From an American perspective, the value of such bases would endure even should Saddam pass from the scene. Over the long term, Iran may well prove as large a threat to U.S. interests in the Gulf as Iraq has. And even should U.S.-Iranian relations improve, retaining forward-based forces in the region would still be an essential element in U.S. security strategy given the longstanding American interests in the region." (pg. 17)

The preceding paragraph is of concern to me because so far everything else in that document has come true including the "new Pearl Harbor". We can already see the posturing for Iran just as we did with Iraq leading up to the military action.

It should be no surprise then that the Washington Monthly reports the building of four permanent U.S. "super-bases" in Iraq.

Let's take a brief look at the background of this group, their philosophy, and the individuals themselves. These are the people that are popularly referred to as Neo-conservatives or Neo-cons. They generally adhere to the philosophy of Leo Strauss who Paul Wolfowitz studied under at Chicago University. The philosophical premise of governing a nation according to Strauss involves basically two things - a noble lie to motivate the people and perpetual war to keep them from becoming too free. Donald Rumsfeld's speech announcing the 2006 Defense Review was entitled "The Long War". Of the PNAC members shown here only Donald Rumsfeld saw combat and John Bolton served in the National Guard avoiding service in Viet Nam. The rest actively evaded military service altogether.

The PNAC group formed in 1997. It is noteworthy what some of them were doing then and what some of them are doing now. DO NOT underestimate their plan or their power. In my opinion they were willing to allow the loss of innocent life to "justify" their plans. It is well known that American soldiers are poorly equipped to survive in the environment they have been thrust into - their families are buying them body armor. Not to mention what has been done to the citizens of the Middle East. I don't feel individual human lives matter to the PNAC when in their minds the end justifies the means.

Dick Cheney - In 1997 was the CEO of Halliburton. He still profits from sending our troops to war and then again rebuilding the destruction. The alleged outing of a CIA agent in retaliation for telling the truth about WMD will give you some idea how important going to war was to these people.

Donald Rumsfeld - In 1997 was the Chairman of the Board of Gilead Sciences the developer of Tamiflu. That's interesting in light of the whole Avian Flu scare. He was roommates with Frank Carlucci of the Carlyle group in 1989. He was also caught signing soldiers death certificates with an auto-pen instead of doing it in person.

Richard Perle - His nickname in Washington D.C. is the Prince of Darkness (by both friends and enemies). He almost came to blows with author Tom Clancy when he said to Clancy, "Colin Powell was being a wuss because he was overly concerned with the lives of the troops". (Dubuque Telegraph Herald, June 13, 2004. Associated Press)

Bill Kristol - A FOX News contributor and the son of Irving Kristol, "The Father of Modern Neo-Conservatism" - Straussian style.

Paul Wolfowitz - I can't find where he was doing anything significant in 1997. But now he is probably the only person to run the World Bank with a bachelor's degree in math and one college internship at a financial institution. Everybody in this plan has been jockeyed into position no matter what.

Jeb Bush - He was doing "business, civic and charitable activities" in 1997. One year later he was elected governor of Florida, a key electoral state. In fact, it was the state that later helped his brother via his dad's Supreme Court cause America to have its first appointed president. The votes of 543,895 Americans didn't count that day. Remember they will stop at nothing to accomplish this plan.

John Bolton - He worked at the American Enterprise Institute in 1997. Today he is ambassador to the United Nations on a recess appointment in spite of what the officials elected by the American people thought. Can you see the theme here?

Lewis Libby - Paul Wolfowitz was his professor in college. He is one of the actual authors who penned the words "NEW PEARL HARBOR". He is also the only one who fell for the outing of a CIA agent which is treason.

Take some time when you get a chance to look into this group and its plans for us.
